[net.micro.amiga] IBM Emulator Performance

My dealer has received a copy of the latest Transformer program and we've
been doing some playing around with it. So far it does "almost exactly"
as promised. It even works the comm port and we have been able to at
least communicate at 300 baud using Qmodem (PC-TALK III didn't work).
Wordstar, db II, and some other major programs also worked, but they all
were terribly slow. So here's the question -- By what factor does the
hardware speed up improve performance? I think a 200% increase would
make the 2 products worth the $300, but anything less than that
would be unsatisfactory. 300% would be utopia! Also, how does the speed
up work? They aren't putting an 8088 in there are they? And when will it
all be available?

Any chance of someone from Commodore(Amiga) helping with some of
these questions?

The Transformer Accelerator has been canceled. A product replacing it
functionally is supposed to |be available from Commodore over the
summer some time. I couldn't get any details. Also, I have the
transformer if anyone wants some information on it.
