[net.micro.amiga] Loss of dealer

randy@bcsaic.UUCP (randy groves) (03/02/86)

A couple of weeks ago, I sent off some mail direct to C-A. But it seems
that either it did not reach you guys, or there is too much other stuff
going on. I think it is a question that has general interest.

I bought my Amiga from a dealer here in Seattle. Three weeks ago, they
informed me that they were no longer carrying Amigas, due to the fact that
they "couldn't get product" from Amiga. I don't know the truth of that, and
do not much care (actually, I was told that this company was in the process
of reorganization, and decided to trim down the lines that they carried).

But that leaves me in a rather difficult position. Where do I get service??
Where do I get upgrades?? The company said that they would still support my
hardware (though if the rumor I heard was true, that doesn't fill me with
comfort), but only on a "ship it to the factory" basis. Upgrades they have
no idea about.

Alright then! Can somebody at Amiga tell me what I can do?? Is there a way
to switch "officially" my dealer?? Other dealers around the Seattle area
sometimes look with something akin to disgust if even copying of the 1.1
upgrade was requested.

There it is in a nutshell. I hope that you can help me out.
