From: walton%DEImos.Caltech.Edu@Hamlet.Caltech.Edu My understanding from a local hardware developer is that the hardware developers' package from Commodore includes complete blueprints for a 5-slot Amiga expansion box, including PAL programming needs. This box turns the n (86?) lines on the internal Amiga bus into 100 pins which are used for such things as DMA access control to the external memory (detecting whether two processes are trying to get at fast memory). This source tells me, incidentally, that the MicroForge expansion box does not have these extra pins, and so may not have this capability. On the other hand, my local Amiga dealer says that the MicroForge box has C/A's official seal of approval, and they've told all their dealers to stock these products. Anyone else know anything about all of this. Steve Walton Caltech Solar Astronomy walton%deimos@hamlet.caltech.edu swalton@caltech.bitnet
