Any file transfer protocol that leaves kaka at the end of the file is
worthless, in my mind.  Kermit is infinitely better, especially kermits
with server and connect mode.  Kermit runs on loads of different
computers with many different operating systems.  It does not require
an 8 bit data path.  It is "sort of" public domain, and can be included
in a product as long as it is included "free of charge".  Sources are
available for all the machines/os's, and in a variety of languages (C,
Assemblers, Pascal, etc).

If anyone wants more info on what it is and where do I get it, I'll
gladly post it.
