[net.micro.amiga] query on music-writing packages

A friend of mine is interested in getting set up with a computer-assisted music composing package.  He writes songs for guitar and would like the computer to act as a "music word processor" and also to play the music he writes.  

Does anybody know what is available for the Amiga (or other fine machines)?
