dant da da dant dant ... dant dant ... A friend of mine has just completed the constuction of a working 5.25" disk drive. I asked him for the plans so that I could build one myself. He used a Qume drive from the back of Byte and ended up paying about $90 for the whole thing. I have complete instructions, schematics, and parts list. I would be glad to post it to the net, however... The schematic is lifted directly from the 3.5" drives and the instructions include referances to company names. How should I post this? I would like to hear from Commodore/Amiga if they think that there is any problem. Otherwise I will post it with the assumption that since I am not making any money, no one will want to sue me (here's hoping). Am I being paranoid? Randy Spencer ps. This drive only works in IBM mode, I saw a posting about people trying to get a quad density drive up an working in Amiga mode, I would be interested in hearing about any success in this area. -- ============================================================================== Randal Spencer - Student DEC Consulting - University of Southern California (213) 743-5363 UUCP...!{uscvax,sdcrdcf,engvax,scgvaxd,smeagol}!oberon!spencer Arpa: Spencer@USC-ECL or Spencer@USC-Oberon Bitnet: Spencer@USCVAXQ Home: 937 N.
