mircosoft is releasing Word 3.0 (word processor) and Multiplan 2.0
for both Xenix and MSDOS this summer and they say that the code will
be transportable to other UN*X systems, anyone heard anything more
on this ? confirm/deny etc. ?

I don't know which version it is, but I currently have Multiplan running
on an AT&T 3b2/310. It's not the best spreadsheet in the world for a
UN*X system -- I don't have the faintest idea how it decides the maximum
size for a spreadsheet. I have a spreadsheet that fits on 1 8 1/2x11
page, and Multiplan tells me I have 83% of my storage left (I have
2 MB RAM). But it *is* Multiplan -- if you learned Multiplan on a
CP/M system, you won't have any trouble.

We've offered Multiplan on the Tower for a number of years and FINALLY
there is a version which allows for much larger spread sheets, and has
a few nice features like a shell escape...
