[net.micro.amiga] Scroll Layer, SuperBitMap windows, Console device

js@uw-june.UUCP (06/17/86)

Well, I recompiled and ran a previously non-working terminal
program after getting my Beta 1.2b update, and, suddenly the screen
started looking 99% better, scrolls started happening the way I'd pictured
them... So, hey, here's one vote of confidence for v1.2.. Although,
I did experience a few problems... Like, once I made the mistake of
using DiskDoctor before DiskSalv.. I also ran into a few snags when I had
bad disks. Once I tried to DiskCopy from one disk to another, and it went
backwards (Both disks had the same name, but I had been real carefull
to note which was in which drive, and which icon was which...)

I'm still having trouble using the console device with
a window set up with a SuperBitMap though. <esc>c doesn't completely
reset the window, and there's no way to turn the cursor on (<esc>p
don't work). Anybody have any great ideas on that one? I suppose it's a
minor problem since I'll probably end up chucking the console driver and
writing my own VT100 (220/241?) emulator anyway...

By the way, I picked up some PD stuff at my dealer, and
found a few programs worthy of mention. Sadly I don't have the
authors names handy, but heres a "Thanks for the nift program" to
1) DISKSALV	- darn useful! I know your on the Net, so, thanks!!!
2) LENS - real cute
3) DAZZLE	- kaliedoscopic
(of course, a very big Thanks to all who've posted
real live source to the net.. Things sure are lookin better
	than 8 months ago.....)

Sorry if I get a bit verbose at three in th morning,
	Cheers,
