[net.micro.amiga] what is the AmigaDOS file name hash function.

I am writing some primative DOS file handeling and checking routines.
Does any one know the actual HASH function used to pick the chain in 
directory blocks for file headers?

There is a program on the Fisk Disk collection that demonstrates this,
it is on disk twenty.
