Some of us in the MIT Amiga User's Group are interested in writing a set of library functions to go on top of the Intuition and graphics libraries to make it somewhat easier to develop applications on the Amiga. The standard libraries are very powerful, but it takes quite a bit of work to understand how they work at first. For example, we might have a function make_window() that takes a few parameters, such as the size and location, and then creates a basic vanilla window. We are interested in providing this kind of library for windows, screens, graphics, sound, and so on. The point of all this? What kinds of functions should be in such a library? What are important primitive operations for basic applications? Please reply through mail (using one of the addresses below) -- if there is sufficient interest in hearing about the responses or our project, I will summarize to the net.
