I bought Lattice v3.02 in December of 1985, sent in the registration cards and
have received no notification of the new(!) version 3.03. My dealer tells me
to be patient, Commodore is a little behind in their notification procedures.
Hey, I'm not asking for a free upgrade, just some notification of how to
purchase an upgrade from my dealer, Commodore or Lattice itself. Besides,
if it weren't for Usenet, how would I know there WAS an upgrade, or the bugs
to avoid until it arrives?

Fortunately, I DO have access to Usenet and mailed for an upgrade directly to
Lattice ($15). I can sympathize with Commodore. When you have to get word out
to the public to BUY your machines in order to survive financially, there's
not much time left to service the people who already have. And, after the
free 1.1 WorkBench upgrade, I can't complain too loudly, anyway!

Any speculation about how version 1.2 of WorkBench will impact things like
Deluxe Paint and other packages which distribute WB in a copy protected form?
How many incompatibilities will force people to upgrade how many packages
they have purchased? Yes, I know, EA is not copy-protecting Deluxe Paint
any more (?).

What are other forums on which this information might be available? I think
_The Amigan_ is probably one of them. Anyone have a comprehensive list of
sources for product information for the Amiga? Usenet is an excellent forum
for information about the Amiga, let's consolidate as much information as
we can. (At least the Amiga vs. ST discussion has subsided!)

PS: Thanks to Commodore for PRODUCING the Amiga! Don't worry, third party
manufacturers and your loyal customers won't LET you fall on your face,
no matter how hard you try! Please fix your advertising. Tell people
WHY the Amiga is great; SHOW THEM! _AmigaWorld_ has the right idea, the
key to Amiga appeal is CREATIVITY not computing! The medium IS the
message! Personal Computers are not just spreadsheets anymore!
