Has anyone succeeded in getting files transferred *over the parallel ports* from an IBM-PC to the Amiga using the convert and the read programs? I can get it to work over the serial ports but not over the parallel ports! I constructed a DB-25(male)-to-DB-25(female) cable, being careful to delete the connection to pins 14,15,16,17,23,24 & 25 to prevent damaging either machine. In fact, the cable as built *does* successfully act as an IBM-PC-to-printer extension cable, so I'm pretty sure all the required "stuff" is there (gads I love this technical talk!). Anyway, if you've succeeded in using the parallel ports to transfer files from IBM-PC to Amiga please let me in on the secret... keith Keith Ericson at TekLabs (resident factious factotum) Tektronix, PO 500, MS 58-383 Beaverton OR 97077 (503)627-6042 uucp: [ucbvax|decvax|ihnp4|hplabs|(and_many_others)]!tektronix!tekgvs!keithe CSnet: keithe%tekgvs@tektronix ARPAnet: keithe%tekgvs%tektronix@csnet-relay

One useful utility to have would be one that reads files from ibm 3.5" floppies. Does this kind of program exist anywhere? peter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ uucp: {akgua|allegra|harvard|ihnp4|seismo|topaz|ucbvax}!uwvax!uwmacc!pwu arpa: pwu@unix.macc.wisc.edu bitnet: uwmacc!pwu@wiscvm or WU at WISVMACC
