I have had Deluxe Video for about two months and am quite pleased with it. However, today something happened that has me puzzled. When I attempted to put four animated objects on the screen at once, the program told me that this would require more memory than was available in the parts pool. I can accept this. I may not like it, but I can accept it. (I've got a 512 K machine. I've always said I'll buy more memory when I find something that needs it.) However, when I run "vidcheck," it lists all my objects in the parts pool, but says the pool is only 3% full! The total file size, including one background, which the manual seems to indicate is not in the parts pool, is 59048 bytes. I booted with the Deluxe Video disk and had nothing else running. More disturbing, when I ran vidcheck to compact a file, the result would not load. It started to, but when the drive stopped and the LED went off, the "ZZZ" pointer remained and I couldn't do anything except move the pointer and blank the window title (but not bring up menus) with the right mouse button.
