What he actually said was that he doesn't do multitasking of existing Mac
applications under Servant, even though he could, because it would be
too sluggish for his taste -- largely because of the large amount of
state to be saved.

Instead, he has defined "Servant tasks", which new applications (or
rewritten old ones) could use in  order to be suitable for multitasking
under Servant.  Since Apple has purchased non-exclusive distribution
rights to Servant, one expects this to lead to an evolution of the Mac
into a multitasking system.
