Whenever I TYPE a file to my Okimate 20 printer, it is done in the draft mode (80 cps). Does anyone know how to get it to print in the 40 cps mode from AmigaDos? Dave Bakken Boeing Commercial Airplane Company {cornell,tektronix,...}uw-beaver!ssc-vax!shuksan!saturn!bakken (206) 237-5080

If you don't want to do that, try copy * to prt: Then type: <ESC>[2"z<CTRL>-\ (ignore spaces) (that's ESC key, [, 2, ", z, hold CTRL and press \) You just typed the ISO standard escape sequence for NLQ ON. You won't see anything on the screen while typing because the "copy * to prt:" has redirected the keyboard to the printer. The <CTRL>-\ terminates the * "file" being copied to PRT: and brings back normal keyboard IO and your prompt. Now, if you Type your text file to PRT:, it will be printed in near letter quality. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Carolyn Scheppner -- CBM >>Amiga Technical Support<< UUCP ...{allegra,caip,ihnp4,seismo}!cbmvax!carolyn PHONE 215-431-9180 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
