[net.micro.amiga] Computer People vs Other Computer People

spencer@usc-oberon.UUCP (Randy) (09/27/86)

I have been reading these messages about the Mac vs the Amiga and they strike
me as unthought-out. Now the Amiga vs ST is bad enough where you are comparing
two machines of different price ranges and saying MINE is better! But to argue
that the Amiga is BETTER than the Mac is rediclious. The Mac came out in '84
and the Amiga came out a year and a half later.

This is the `time' of the Amiga. It has all the advantages of not having found
it's niche, and not having to live up to anything. It's just New and exciting.

Next year Apple is going to introduce a New and exciting machine and this will
start again. Amiga people will be saying that our computer is better for
desktop Video productions because of all the software out, BUT the Apple
people will be all over our behinds because there computer is SO much better
than the Amiga. It has all these new features you "can't" do on the Amiga.

I just hope that one person posting to the net will try to think over what I
said and not post things that sound like "Our computer is so good and it
PROVES that no one can make as good a computer as this one is." Mostly
because when postings like that go up, postings like mine go up to try and
calm them down, and it all leads to too much net traffic.

I just feel that we all watch too much football.

This all reminds me of when people try to compare HP calculators and
TI calculators. If you think Mac vs. Amiga vs. Atari is silly...
