[net.micro.amiga] Amiga price and software

On page 108 of the November/December AmigaWorld, there's an ad from a company
called Star Flite, selling an Amiga, monitor, 256K ram expansion, and external
disk drive for $1370. Has anybody out there bought one from them, or had any
experience with this company? That price is about $270 less than anything I've
seen elsewhere, so I'm interested. Full details:

There's also a lot of software listed at substantial savings -- try the
Commodore 68000 assembler for $76.25 (vs. $99.95). At least two other people
here are iterested also. If the company is reputable, I may be getting an
Amiga two months earlier than I counted on!

On the next page is an ad for Dynamic CAD. Does anyone know about this? It's
listed in the AmigaWorld software buyer's guide at $500, which is a great deal
if it does everything the ad claims. The question is, does it? The ad also says
it's available now; the local Amiga dealer (several stores around here sell
Amigas, but this one has half the store devoted to Amiga with the clones and
other toys jammed into the other half) says not until November or so.

A portable program is one that has the same bugs on many different computers.

In the same issue you will also see that the basic computer,
and monitor can be bought for $989, and else where the extra
memory can be had for as little as $89, and then the disk
can be bought for $240. That totals up to about $1320 plus tax
and shipping (where applicable). Elsewhere I have seen the
basic computer sell for $950 (for a brief sale)with monitor.
