[Take cover! First posting to the net!] I have been running BBS-PC! by Micro-Systems for almost 7 months now on my Amiga. Although I wasn't too happy with the program when I first bought it, I have come to realize that it is a pretty remarkable program. Here are a couple things I have learned in my travels. (For my fellow sysops.) If you limit your message base to 100, use BBSINIT to edit the parameters so that drive path for message files = RAM: Then, before loading BBS-PC!, use the CLI command "copy msg#?dat to ram:". This puts the 3 message files into RAM. This will drastically reduce wear on your drives caused by the BBS. (To backup the message base simply type "copy ram:#? to dfx:".) WARNING: You cannot multi-task with messages in RAM! Also, RAM must not have anything else in it! Contact me through E-Mail with any questions. I hope this info helps! I've left my Amiga on 24hrs for 7 months now. Only thing I've noticed is that the fan sounds a little bit louder. I am desperately seeking multi-user software for the Amiga. If you know of any other BBS software (multi-user or not), PLEASE contact me! Tim ...!crash!pnet01!timothyb
