[net.micro.amiga] Triclops Invasion from Fish Disk 35

-----

Has anyone looked at the Triclops game from Fish Disk 35? I am
impressed with the program --- It's got great 3d graphics. The
world is much more detailed (and larger) than that of Arctic Fox,
and the way you control the Jet is also much better. (In Arctic
Fox you have to switch between modes to do various things while in
Triclops you simply punch the mouse buttons in one of the four possible
combinations while moving the mouse a certain way.)

I haven't played with the game all that much (yet), but I have noticed
that once in a while you get short lines appearing in random places on the
screen --- and they don't look like they belong in the scenery. Also once
I went up to the satellite (this is truly cool --- the satellite rotates
and you can go through it or look through it...) and on my way back the whole
scenery somehow got screwed up and remained that way. Anyone else got similar
experiences?

If you haven't tried it yet and want to, make sure you read the file "book4"
first. There are 6 "book" files, but #4 is the one that describes how to
control the jet. Trying to control the jet without knowing how to is a
rather difficult task! (Kind of like using Emacs without learning it first.)

I should say I have no relation with the company that makes it, but I am
truly impressed and will look forward to other versions of this program and
other programs they write for the Amiga... (Seeing programs like that makes
me want to drop all my classes and hack on the Amiga all quarter long!)

Yah, I've played with it. The funny lines are, I guess, small bugs
in the program (after all, it's supposed to be a PD release of a not-yet-
finished product). It's lots of fun... the 3D and fractals move quite fast.
I only wish it had more types of enemies..
