[net.sf-lovers] Hoyle and "Ossian's Ride"

Has anyone else read "Ossian's Ride" by Fred Hoyle? He is probably best known
for "The Black Cloud" but "Ossian's Ride" is an oft-overlooked thriller that
is very well done. I highly recommend it. (It is available at many used
bookstores; it may be out of print.) It dates from the late 50s, I believe,
and takes place in the "future" of 1971 or so. The main character is entirely
believable, the setting in rural Ireland inventive, and the plot well
formulated. Without spoiling more than the first few pages, the main character
is a young Englishman who is talked into becoming an agent to look into some
mysterious doings in western Ireland. This is one of the few books I just
could not put down.

Has anyone read any other Fred Hoyle books? I've only read those two
mentioned above. I am interested in any other opinions.
