In B news, there is no need for software rewrite so that anyone can use their own interface, because you are free to do that now. Because the articles are ascii text and in separate files, you can devise your own schemes to select articles. You can even write your own code to expand digests. Any interface is possible, from a sophisticated keyword-based news scheme to cat(1). This is why multiple news-reading programs already exist (vnews, rn, readnews, k news). With notes, you are more restricted, because the articles are all in one file. -- It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under.
