There is a bug in our version of notes--I would like to know if it is our very own bug, or if others have found and fixed it. Notes does not correctly handle very long machine names, especially with lots of dot-affixes. The machine name trails off into garbage characters on the index page, and if you try to read such a note you get a segmentation fault--not nice. My guess is that somebody is writing the machine name into a too-small character array. Does anybody have a fix? TIA

If it turns into garbage after ten characters, then you need a new version of notes. That was a bug in 1.3, but I think that it was dead by 1.6. It is certainly fixed in Notes 1.7 and NYU Notes. Walter Underwood wunder@hplabs
