[ba.seminars] First meeting Bay Area ACM/SIGGRAPH TIGSV

eugene@eos.UUCP (Eugene Miya) (04/12/89)

The Bay Area ACM/SIGGRAPH is holding a "technical interest group" [TIG]
on the topic of the display of scienific data.
The concern of this group is the discussion of next generation
display system requirements. Any vendor can take these discussions
and implement them.

Our first meeting will be held in the offices of SUN Microsystems,
2550 Garcia, Mtn. View, CA on Thursday, April 13, at 7 PM. Building 8.
Please allow time to sign in.

We are asking those who participate to bring a short written statement
of their interests, background research, or engineering problems.
We would like these in writing enlu of proceedings or note taking.
This constitutes demonstrated interest in scientific data display
and visualization.
Limited A-V materials will be provided to those that need them.

The meeting is open to ALL free of charge, but we request that long-term
participation be associated with Bay Area ACM/SIGGRAPH membership.
Forms at the meeting. The plan is to meet quarterly. IF you have special
requirements such as transport from SJ Airport, please let us know [we are
doing it already]. We do not regard this as strictly a Bay Area event.
