[net.database] Speeds of DBMS and Benchmark Claims

	sorry but some lines seem to have been lost in the mail from
	my last message.
	The beginning was: Several people have commented that relational
databases have been improving in performance. I do not know how this has
been accomplished.
	 	My understanding of B tree variants seems to be out of
> date. Can Anyone give me a good recent reference. I would also like one

 I am also interested in the consequences of filling the directories
