DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT FOR COMMON LISP
This software product is designed for the development
of LISP-based applications. It balances the capability of
symbolic computing with the capabilities of a general purpose
HP-UX workstation. The benefits include:
o An integrated development environment including an EMACS-
based editor in a mouse-oriented, multiple-window
environment. The editor is user-customizable.
o A complete, high-performance implementation of Common Lisp,
based on the book 'Common Lisp' by Guy Steele.
o A range of workstations can be created to scale to the
desired application. The HP 9000 Series 300 is a modular
system: the choices include two processors, four display
systems, RAM from 3 to 7.5 Mbytes, and a wide range of
peripherals.
o HP-UX access allows an application to leverage the tools
and libraries of a standard operating system. HP-UX is
HP's version of the Bell System V UNIX Operating System.
The Windows/9000, Starbase graphics, NS/9000 and Device
I/O libraries are all accessible from LISP. Also, the
LISP environment has direct access to HP-UX to allow a
developer to utilize system commands.
o Traditional language access allows a developer to use all
the existing software. FORTRAN, Pascal and C routines can
be linked to a LISP application. Additionally, LISP can
be customized to allow code development in C, Pascal and
FORTRAN with specialized support for editing and debugging.
AI DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS
o These systems are hardware/software bundles tailored by HP
to the needs of AI application developers. They include a
Motorola 68020 CPU with 68881 floating point coprocessor,
6 MBytes of memory, IEEE 802.3 hardware with software,
HP-UX multi-user programming environment, and the Development
Environment for Common Lisp. A choice of either high
resolution monochromatic or color display is provided.
EXECUTION LICENSE FOR COMMON LISP
o This product gives the application developer a low cost
platform on which to base delivery of a completed appli-
cation.
