Datatran Pty Ltd announce the availability of the FJ serial port expander for
the BSD 4.2 range of UNIX machines such as the Sun Workstations.
This unit allows a single serial port to be shared between five RS-232 devices
plus one Centronics device.
Each peripheral channel has 40 Kbytes internal buffering which would enable it
to act as a multiple print spooler.
Each peripheral channel has full modem control signals which would enable it
to act as a multiple modem controller.
Speeds on upto 19200 bps can be achieved on each peripheral channel, and it is
forseen that additional ASCII terminals could be attached to the host computer
via the FJ unit.
