markm@tekecs.TEK.COM (Mark Mehall) (10/26/86)

The Tektronix Model 4132 is a 4.2bsd & Sys V based workstation that has
a 32-bit processor (National 32016 @ 12.5 MHz), 1 megabyte (expandable
to 7 megabytes) of parity memory (with 16 MB virtual addressability),
80 megabyte winchester disk drive (expandable to 150 MB or 240 MB),
1.2 megabyte flexible disk drive (or optional 360KB), High-Speed (up
to 38.4 KBaud) RS-232-C/RS-422 interfaces, a Small System Standard
Interface (SCSI), Local Area Network (LAN) interface and ethernet TCP/IP
with Distributed File System (DFS) software. The standard unit includes
the C, FORTRAN 77 and Pascal compilers with the Programming Support and
Auxiliary Tools packages. The base price for the 4132 in the United States
is $10,950. The system can be expanded with additional disks, additional
dual RS-232 or RS-232/RS-422, dual centronics, or high-speed GPIB interfaces,
an integrated streamer tape drive and software products. The 4132 can support
up to eight users and up to 16 different interfaces.

The 4132 uses the ethernet standard (IEEE 803.2) with Transport Control
Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) which handles the communications
between a users program and other processes executing on the same
workstation, at a different workstation on the LAN, or on a different
network. The 4132 supports the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), the Simple
Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and the Virtual Terminal (Telnet).
Tektronix has implemented a Distributed File System that allows a
workstation to access files on other workstations as though they were
resident locally.
