Well, we finally have a net-wide forum for gun discussion. My intentions for this group are as follows: No gun control issues. Net.flame seems to suffice for this subject. Likewise, ravings about 'That guy who ran amuck in Podunk, Iowa' will not be accepted. The interest will be in the use, not misuse of firearms. The only exceptions are articles that could be deemed instructive to the shooting public (I.E. "Don't construct handloads for your .45 that produce 45,000 CUP! I did, and..."). This newsgroup is intended for rational (not barring humorous) discussions about guns, recreational and professional shooting and any technical aspects of weaponry in general. I will try only to screen articles that violate the above principles and get your submissions onto the net as fast as possible. Unless I absolutely cannot resist, I will refrain from placing 'editors notes' into your postings ("Joe states that the 5.56mm round travels at 3,100 FPS. I could not help but point out that it actually travels at...") as it is not really my place to do so and I'm sure I'd slip up eventually and get rightfully bar-b-que'd.. Also note that while this newsgroup is technically for 'recreational' guns, I won't sneer at intelligent articles on, shall we say, more specialized weaponry. I think a discussion on the infrared guidance system of the stinger AA Missle wouldn't hurt anyone! Anyway, this newsgroup will be in 'digest' format with discussions grouped when possible.
