Article: 2:9 Ok, ok.. I've been making fun of the Glaser issue a bit because everybody and his grandfather posted an article about that particular projectile, but I'm gonna talk about it anyway. Everyone likes it a whole lot, and I don't blame them. But, don't forget a few things, you auto owners! One, the muzzle blast and recoil will be significantly higher with Glasers than with ordinary Ball ammo. If you are very used to a certain load, then these will throw your double taps all off unless you contend with point two! Two, since Glasers are so expensive, us auto owners are bound to cheap out on practice ammo of this type. Bad Move! Although most auto owners would like to deny/dismiss the fact, it still remains that autos are likely to be very finicky about certain types of ammo. Perhaps your auto more than others. If you don't get in sufficient practice with the altered recoil/blast characteristics of this round, or its feeding habits with your firearm, you're potentially setting yourself up. Tests so far have been very positive with the (.45) Glaser auto rounds, but your actual mileage may differ. For some reason, recoil seems to be less of a problem (less that wadcutters in some cases) in revolvers. No so autos. As they say, it's not what you hit it with. It's where you hit it.
