Well, the bug has finally bitten me and I've decided to have my .45 gov series
80 sent away for frills. I've heard a lot of good things about Richard
Heine and his custom work. I'd like a compensator (with tight tolerence),
trigger job, extended safeties, checkering of the grip and beveled magazine
well, match barrel and sights and perhaps a lowered ejection port. Mr. Heine
does most or all of these things for around $400 - $500.. Does anyone have
any coments about this? Suggestions about other (good) smiths? 7 months for
a Heine jobs is a bit long. I'm willing to pay and wait for quality work
tho..

Does anyone out there know what is going on inside the National Rifle
Association? There have been two changes in the Executive Vice Presidency
in the last year and very little information as to why has been made
public.

When Harlon Carter resigned, he had previously alluded to factions within
the organization which were in opposition to him.

Now Ray Arnnet has been removed from office by the executive board.
There was a short article in this month's American Hunter magazine which
said the board had removed him from office for improperly conducting the
affairs of his office (my words not theirs-that is how it read to me).

The absence of information available to the rank and file is most distressing
to me. Is this just a good old fashion power struggle? Is the NRA plotting
the overthrow of the government? what the h--- is going on? Does anyone
out in net land know?

Maybe an ex-NRA member soon.
