Article: 10:14 THIS WARNING IS ISSUED FOR SMITH AND WESSON 9 MM LUGER PISTOLS SHIPPED FROM THE FACTORY BETWEEN MAY 1, 1983 AND FEBRUARY 26, 1986. AFFECTED MODELS ARE 439,459, 469, 539, 559, 639, 659 AND 699. The serial numbers affected are: A745000 through A865000 and TAA0001 through TAL9999. The pistols have defective manual safety (decocking) levers. They can discharge from the half-cock position. Recalled pistols should be sent to a Smith and Wesson Warranty Service Center.
