For those of you who are competent to use a handgun for
self-defense, you might consider the Glaser Safety
Slug. It is EXPENSIVE, about $15/box of 6, but it is
VERY EFFECTIVE (and I mean VERY EFFECTIVE) against
unarmored human targets. Also, its unique construction
prevents accidental penetration through walls.
The bullet is designed to break apart upon impact,
releasing many small pellets into the target.
This is probably the best round to use in a
confrontation within the bounds of your home,
in terms of lethality for the bad guy and safety to
innocent bystanders. (Of course, if the bad guy
is wearing body armor, aim for the head.)
