Article: 10:61 Just got back from San Bernardino this weekend where I went to shoot for my Garand. Is there anyone out there who has participated in the D.C.M. M-1 Garand purchase program? If so, how long have you been waiting or for those lucky ones who have received their Garands, how long did it take? My main concern in this posting is with Mini-14 sights. I don't know if there is a problem in general with standard factory rear sights on stainless Mini-14s but mine sure rattles. I spoke to a gunsmith at the High-Power match and he said that there is a replacement sight on the market by a company named Williams. Looking through my copy of Guns & Ammo, I found their add, with a picture of a modified Mini-14. Has anyone out there with a Mini-14 made this modification or some other fix-it to the sights. Article: 11:5 When I had a series 181 Mini-14, the sights did rattle slightly, but it had no effect on accuracy. From the factory, 4 clicks up from mechanical zero (as far down as the adjustment would go) put the gun right on target for 100 meters. The accuracy was good enough for nailing tin cans. I was using standard M193 5.56 ball. Shoot your gun and see whether you really need new sights. Jon Kaplowitz cbosgd!erc3ba!jfka
