I am interested in buying a new shotgun. I am specifically interested in
the Browning Citori. My question is, has anyone out there got any comments
about the Citori or ideas about other guns in the same class. I definitely
want an over/under. I have found the Citori at $735 with invectors. Is
this a good price? Also does anyone know of any good gun shops in the
Seattle area? The shops I've been in so far haven't been overflowing with
well informed sales people.

The Citori is an excellent O/U. The $735 price is good for a used gun.
Very good for a new gun (you didn't say which it was). The invectors are
the only way to go if you are planning to use the gun for mutilple pur-
poses, eg, target, upland and waterfowl. I have fired one a lot at skeet,
although I don't own it, and it shoots very well. If I could afford to
I would buy it.

I have had a Browning Citori for about 6 years now, and it is by
far my favorite shotgun. The balance and swing are suberb and it
points perfectly for me (just shoulder it and you are looking down
hoe sight plane). It is about 3 to 4 inches shorter than a pump
or autoloader, which makes it a good handler. It's only fault
that I find, it is a bit heavy at 8 pounds. I use it for every-
thing from quail to goose (and a lot of trap). Under $800 seems
like a good price for the invector (I have seen it as high as $1100),
I wish it had been available when I bought mine.

On the same note, does anyone have any info on these companies that
convert your gun to screw in chokes. I am considering sending my
Citori in to Cabela's at the end of this season to have the conversion
done. It runs about $150 and includes three chokes (of your choice).
Chokes available are skeet, imp cyl, mod, imp mod, full and super full.
My wife has a winchester with "winchokes" and is very happy with it,
and it sure would be nice to have a variety of chokes in the same gun.
Any info would be appreciated.
