An open letter to Jon Kaplowitz:

Whew.. I gather you're not happy about the MV bill. Neither am I. Anything
sneaking in trying to errode (and eventually destroy) our 2nd Ammendment
rights is not kosher in my book. The same goes for my other rights as
well! However, I think we've been getting a little more political than
we should be in this group.

Before you take this to mean that we shouldn't keep each other informed
about situations that could endanger our ownership of guns, let me ensure you
that that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is this:

If we post too many obviously biased political arguments to this
group, yet reject the anti-gunner articles (which is what I do), we
will be justly accused of unfair censorship, and violating the
right of free speach.

We need to know when new laws could drastically affect our hobby/way of
life, but not to vent our political spleens on a public forum.

I certainly am not attacking Jon. I have posted all of his articles on the
current state of the NRA so far because I felt they were valuable (as are
most of his other articles). I think, however, that less emotionally
charged (or fewer, more encapsulated) articles are the way to go. This
way we can hope to avoid the corruption of this group with politics
(which is a corruption in general). Let's hear it for more articles on
the more pleasant aspects of this sport!
