Well, I suppose most of you have read "Shooting time's" review of Colt's new 10mm Govn't model by now (or some equivalent review) and are wondering, like me, where when and how much. I don't think any answers are forthcoming from Colt for awhile, but I'd be interested in any rumors that some of you may have heard. As far as the 10mm as concerned, it looks like a pretty decent cartridge for its size, though anything that generates 41,000 CUP max is going to be a pain to design autoloaders for. At least it ain't rimmed. :-) Has anyone shot it from a contender barrel? I saw some 100 yd groups that looked pretty decent, shot from a machine rest. I'm Very Curious how the first tuned Colts are going to start performing. Machine rest groups from a contender are one thing, offhand shots from the Colt will be another. It appears that only Norma loads this cartridge, currently. Has anyone heard anything about Winchester coming out with a Silvertip load in this caliber? At 1100 FPS, a 200Gr. JHP should expand nicely. In any case, Colt's offering looks like it will finally legitamize this cartridge. I wonder if someone will revive Dornaus and Dixon now.. Hmmm.. Is anyone interesting in starting a betting pool as to when the first commercially produced 10mm SMG will be out? As usual, Jordan Hubbard (moderator) ucbvax!jkh
