What reasonably priced (say <$200) 22 automatic pistol suitable for making holes in cardboard do people out there like? I have been reccomended to something called a "Ruger" (sp?), but welcome suggestions. Thanks, Andy

Article: 12:14 Yes, Ruger makes an excellent, reliable, light target pistol. An automatic. Any shop that sells handguns would know what you're talking about if you ask for a "Ruger 22":

The Ruger heavy (aka 'bull') barrel automatics are okay too, but generally fall into the beginner to intermediate competitor category. So if you are just looking for a fun target weapon, then a target-model Ruger should be just fine. If you expect to someday go into serious competition, however, I would suggest you look at the S&W 41, either now or later. Good luck. . . Article: 1:2 I have 49 rounds of 44 automag ammo manufactured by Norma. Anyone out there have a 'Clint Eastwood Special' that needs feeding? I bought the ammo before finding the gun, and never found said pistol. I am now interested in selling the ammo.

It's the first 22 pistol I bought and I still have it. I shot it in NRA matches unitl I shot an 860, out of 900, with it and decided I needed a S&W 41. Needles to say I have yet to shoot an 860 with the 41 but I will keep trying. You can't go wrong with the Ruger. It is the best value on the market. John Mireley

I recently had a nice experience with a company called "Kleen-Bore". They make high quality gun cleaning accessories. I purchased one of their cleaning rods and it was too short (I shoot antique target rifles with >30" barrels). I wrote and asked how I could get a couple more sections to make the rod long enough. Their response was to mail me a catalog and three more rod sections. There was no invoice in the package. I think that companies who are willing to ship small items like this without worrying about whether or not they will get their money deserve to be recommended. Besides that, their cleaning rods, brushes and kits are exceptionally good quality. Much nicer than the Outers kits I've owned in the past. Bruce --
