A thought on the much-berated "Get Coke" number: On a container of New Coke, it says that you can call 1-800-GET-COKE "for consumer information". I recently noticed a similar notice on a can of Hires Root Beer (a Canada Dry product). They had their own 800 number for asking questions about Hires. Are these consumer information number required by law or are they a "good will" gesture on the part of the soft drink manufacturer? Since it appears that "Get Coke" was not set up just for New Coke complaints, what sort of questions can they handle? Can I ask such burning questions as "How much caffeine is in non-'Caffeine-free' Coke?" or "What is the sodium content of Tab?" -- Name: John Ruschmeyer US Mail: Monmouth College, W.
