Dr. Pepper is an independent company based in Texas (I forget whether it is Dallas or Houston); they contract out their bottling, distribution, etc. to local bottlers of the major colas, so in some areas it's in the Pepsi machines, some areas the Coke machines, etc. What you SHOULD be seeing on the cans is something like "Bottled under license from the Dr. Pepper Co., ??? Texas". To respond to a previous article, Coca-Cola DOES own Taylor California vinyards. They bought in when the boom in wine consumption occurred a few years ago.
