[net.misc.coke] Is Coke different outside the USA?

A friend from the middle east told me that the Coke sold in other parts the
world is sweeter than the Coke sold in the USA. Does anybody know anything
about this?

I read in a newspaper here in Seattle that Coke *is* different outside the USA,
specifically that Mexico and Australia are still selling the old formula and
don't plan to get the new formula for a couple years or so.

Apparently, some people up here (probably Gay Mullins - Old Coke Drinkers) were
planning to import the stuff. Of course, there is no need for that anymore.

I've had Coca-Cola in Mexico and Brazil and noticed no difference from the
formula they used to sell here.

Up here in Canada the formula for regular Coke has always
been a bit sweeter that its U.S. counterpart. However, I
believe that the formula for New Coke is exactly the same.
