Nobody has mentioned this before so... (in the last 2 weeks anyway) Many years ago, soon after Coca-Cola (it wasn't even called Coke then) started appearing in cans, I read that they used a different formula for the canned variety than the bottled variety. Later, after it started appearing in plastic bottles, I heard that they used yet another formula for those. The reason given was various reactions with the material of the alternative containers. This was so long ago that I cannot remember the reference. Also it was in England.
