Korg DW8000 8 voice polyphonic synth. Waveform synthesis (instead of
an oscillator with 3 or 4 waveforms, there are 16 PCM
waveforms). 2 'oscillators', filter, VCA, EG. Velocity
sensitive 61 note keyboard with after touch (all programm-
able). 64 presets. Arpeggiator (internal or MIDI sync).
Built in stereo digital delay. Oh, and pitch bend (MIDI).
Asking $800 Can, $714 US.
Kawai K5m 16 voice, 15 part multi-timbral. Additive sound sythesis
using 126 harmonics (either in full, or as two 63 harmonic
parts). 2 parts per patch. Each patch has 2 frequency
envelopes, 8 harmonic envelopes, 2 filter and 2 amplifier
envelopes. Programmable 11 band EQ with lots of modulation.
Large bitmapped LCD graphics display. 48 single patches,
48 multi patches (multi-timbral patches with velocity
switch). Rackmount or desktop module. With atari st disk
containing over 500 sounds for Dr. T software (which I
might include).
Asking $700 Can, $625 US.
Yamaha YPR9 61 note velocity sensitive keyboard. I use it as my main
MIDI controller for these reasons: quick MIDI channel send
procedure(!) This keyboard is part of Yamaha's PortaSound
system. It has 5 pre-set FM patches with a little
sequencer and stereo chorus unit (built in speakers and
battery powered, if you want). For me, it is a great
no-frills inexpensive MIDI controller. For you, it can
act as that or as a home keyboard.
Will send and receive on separate MIDI channels.
Aksing $500 Can, $446 US.
Due to the costs of importing items from the US (exchange, customs, etc),
Canadian prices are generally more than US prices, hence my asking prices
might be higher for some US citizens; I am open to negotiation.
