Notation:
Stations:
Upper Case: Wide Area Coverage Digipeater, All day operation,
Omni directional antenna,50 watts
250' above average hieght of covered
terrain.
Lower Case: Personal stations left on 24 hrs for
linking purposes.
Parenthesis: Letters in parenthises describe additional
station functions not used for linking
as follows:
b - computer based message system
c - call lister
w - weather information
Routing Information:
X-<Location> : Station column marker, Station in row of marker
has a direct link to all stations with entries
in the same column as the marker.
Station Linking Functions: These are the characters
imediately below the the Station column marker (X).
H : HF gateway
HB : Computer based message system with access ports
on vhf and hf.
HT : Computer based message system that is on both
vhf and hf at different times.
HF : Computer based message system with access ports
on vhf and hf , gatewaying facilities and
autoforwarding on either port. Ala W0RLI.
A-<call sign> : Robotic message handler, Autoforward-
#,#,... ing. <callsign> is the call sign of
node's autoforwarding station. # is the
routing table number of other robotic
message handling system(s) or their
closest prime link
Link Descriptors: These letters appear in the row and column
of the two stations whose link they describe.
A : Link is available 24 hours a day.
D : Link is available on a scheduled basis during the
daytime hours only. Typically 10 A.M. to
10 P.M. local time.
N : Link is available on a scheduled basis during the
nightime hours only. Typically 10 P.M. to
10 A.M. .
E : Link is possible only during periods of enhanced
propagation usually caused by troposheric
scattering.
T<#> : Link is only possible via a computer based
message system that is changed somehow to
provide a link to one of the stations then
to the other on a regularily scheduled basis.
# is the list number of the computer based
message system station or it s closest prime
link. T stands for Time Shifted.
! : For the convience of the routing table user ex-
clamation points were added to make columns
easier to discerne.
Link Quality Descriptors: Loosely based on the RST
signal report system these numbers describe the
quality of links. Readabilty is analogued to
Traffic effects on thruput and Strength is
analogued to the open channel Packet Proba-
bility of Reception averaged over a year.
Traffic:
1: 24 hour heavy traffic
2: 12 hour heavy traffic
3: Prime time heavy traffic
4: Occaisional heavy traffic
5: Occaisional light traffic
PPRAY:
1: 10 to 19 %
2: 20 to 29 %
3: 30 to 39 %
etc up to
9: 90 to 99 %
Instructions: Pick out two stations u wish to link between. Look at a
complete listing of stations (such as IL.LST) to find the
stations' locations. Use 9landnet.map to determine the closest
prime link station to the stations. Find the farthest north or
west prime link station on the above table. Trace downward from
the Station column marker (X) until u find the last station with
an A,N,D entry in that column. Then translate right to this sta-
tion's column marker and repeat the downward trace operation de-
scribed in the last sentance. Eventually you will come to the
closest prime link station to the farthest south or east station.
Your link is now the via the first prime link station , any sta-
tions where a right shift was made (in sequence) and finally the
last prime link station. Other routes are possible by not tran-
slating as far as possible downwards before translating to the
the right. the link s overall quality may be calculated as shown
below:
Overall Traffic Number =
(T1 * T2 *...Tn)/(5**(n-1))
Overall PPRAY Number =
(P1 * P2 *...Pn)/(10**(n-1))
