Following arrived at K1BC this morning (Monday 10 Feb 86).
While it looks as though the FCC has decided to dump on
unattended HF operation for now, it may also presage dumping on
VHF third-party unattended operation.

UNATTENDED BULLETEN BOARD! WHILE OUT OF TOWN THE FCC CALLED AND ASKED
TO TALK TO HIM. HIS WIFE INDICATED HE AS NOT THERE AND THUS THE CHARGE.
Other returns are not in yet -- but FCC is calling BBS stations long
distance and citing those whose operators do not answer. This may
shut down much of the message network. More as this develops.
I guess the FCC isn't kidding ! What should we do ?

I talked to Jim Scalf K4TKU at 1700 EST today in Miami. He was
phoned by an FCC Listening station in Belfast Maine at 1000 EST
Friday after his HF station was heard on the air. The man
informed him that HF Operation unattended was what he was being
sited for - THIS HAS NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on VHF Ops. 73 de
