[net.sf-lovers] Enemy Mine -- a bit of history

[For all you do -- This Lines For You! <munch, munch>]

With many comments on Enemy Mine flying about, I thought I'd give a
(fairly) complete biography on the beastie.
It started out as a novella in IASFM (yes, I still prefer the old abbreviation,
however unwieldy) in late 1979 or 1980. BTW, it was the cover story
for that issue. Very Nice Cover, too. In 1981, Longyear came out
with a book, Manifest Destiny, which had three novellas and some glue.
Enemy Mine was the first, followed by two others (which I believe were
previously unpublished). The movie has just been released, and I am
anxiously awaiting its arrival in town. I'm also going to procure
a copy of the book taken from the movie (a collaboration, I might add)
and read it soon. After this, I will bring the story, Manifest Destiny, and
the new collaboration to school and comment on the similarities, changes,
etc.

See Yah.
