I'm planning to buy a PC 6300 with a single floppy, then add a 20 MB internal hard disk. Any special requirements for the disk controller? Any problem with the existing power supply? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you, Ruth Lewart.

First see if they directly support the higher speed clock that is provided in addition to (very important!) the 4 Mhz clock used for IBM compatable cards. Using AT&T's 16 bit i/o format. Second try to consider using a half height hard disk and a tape backup in an separate cabinet, with it own power supply. This will allow frequent backups and also provide you with the ability to leave the hard disk powered up all the time. Track to track access is important, as is a disk buffer for the hard disk. Thats all I can think of now..... George Wilkin AT&T Network Systems ihlpf!gpw IH main x2112 312-979-2112 Disclaimer ......etc.
