We're interested in using our 7300 so it can be accessed by second users calling in to ph1 or ph2. The main problem we're having right now is security. So far we haven't been able to figure out how to prevent users from shutting down the system using the office manager 'Shutdown' command. We've changed the permissions on /etc/shutdowm with no apparent effect. I'm *not* any kind of unix wizard (I feel like a unix dunce at this point), but for the life of me I can't find anything about this except the admonition in the Remote Access Users Guide to 'NEVER give the shutdown command when you are logged in from a remote terminal.' Hey, that'll work. Right. Wrong. Has anyone else attempted to deny remote access users the right to shut down the system? I keep thinking I'm missing something very simple, but so far the answer has eluded me. Thanks. -Jerry Trott {decvax, akgua}!mcnc!ecsvac!jmt
