[net.micro.att] 7300 data base management systems?

ips@hlexa.UUCP (irwin seltzer) (08/13/85)

We're looking into purchasing a 7300 for maintaining
a data base of network information.

Has anyone had any experiences with 7300 data base software
they'd like to share?

We're particularly interested in products that can
be used in multi-user mode.

Also, any advice about a backup mechanism?
Backing up 20-40 Mb of data to floppies sounds unwieldy.

Thanks!

I have a flyer from Microcon Computer and Software Center in the Quakerbridge
Mall, NJ for the microSTOR (tm) HD+tape backup+data encryption system.
It is a box with a 20, 40 ,115 mb hard disk (formatted) and a streaming
tape drive with 23 Mb per cartridge. It has an encryption option. It takes
one slot on the unixpc. You can get tape only, disk only or tape and disk.
It costs around $3K in the 20Mb HD+tape config. (I think).

They also sell a single board 2mb memory expansion card.

Contact Sujoy Banerjee at Microcon (609 799 6444) for more info. Microcon
carries the 7300, 6300 and all the software and stuff. Reasonable prices
and delivery too. (hell of a lot better than ATTIS!)
