if you have an ATT PC6300 and have tried to play games written for the IBM PC, you will have noticed that some games are unplayable because the 6300 runs so much faster than the IBM PC and XT. has anybody found ways to solve this problem? the only solutions i can think of are to install a second, slower crystal or find a divider somewhere on the motherboard that's outputting a slower square wave and install a switch to switch between the original clock and the new, slower one. i don't know if anything else in the machine would be disturbed by doing this (like software timing loops or clock-speed assumptions in the hardware). if nobody has any better solutions, i'll go ahead and try it. please mail all responses to me, and i'll summarize to the net.
