Since it's been a while since the UNIX PC was introduced, I was wondering
whether anybody out there with experience with one would care to
comment on the machine. I've played with one for an afternoon,
and it seemed like a nice machine (even with the slow 10MB disk), but
it'd be nice to have some more depth.

Software: Is the windows package well-implemented?
How do the graphics compare with those on other machines?
(Somehow I expect GSS is not nearly as complete as
QuickDraw on the Macintosh, and I don't really like that green screen--
the Mac has sold me on B&W. OnTheOtherHand, an *operating **system** *
is indispensable for most graphics applications!)
Has anybody tried to use a UNIXPC running SUMACC
for Macintosh development?

Hardware: Is the system reliable? Are the memory expansions to 2MB
reasonably easy to acquire/perform? ATT is supposed to announce
larger (faster?) disks, tape drives, more serial ports, and
a DOS (ho-hum) card. Anybody atttending UNIX/EXPO hear
anything explicit about this?

Prices? What kind of prices could an academic institution get now?

Thanks very much for any info,
Kevin Eric Saunders
